Green rice flakes of Vong village – Com Lang Vong

People don’t accurately know when “Cốm” trade of Vong village begin, only heard at second hand that: In a autumn thousand years ago, when rice was being green, it was big rain and gale, dykes broke, the highest ricefield was also sunk deeply. People of Vong village had to cut these young rice plants and dryly roast to eat against the famine. Suddenly, the reluctant food has a special and delicious taste, so they usually make to eat every autumn as a nosh. After many learning from experience, more creative, more and more Com grains are green, thin, soft, sweet-smelling… It became a specialty to present king of the Ly (1009 – 1225) – a famous elegant meal of Trang An. Com is called a gift of young rice plant to bring out unusualness in culinary culture of Viet Nam. Com is eaten with bananas or Hong fruit, it bring about a taste that people firstly eat to be unforgettable. So, anybody coming to Viet Nam should try to eat Com, they will feel a part of Vietnam in there.
